Are you doing busy things or really working for results?

Once I know what I need to do daily – my mission is to fill my calendar with appointments to get results. So often I see people who are being busy but not necessarily with money making activities. While I am in front of a prospective client, on the phone, and/or by email communicating I aim to do all I absolutely can to complete the transaction. If that doesn’t happen, I make another time to connect and I follow up. Many people will follow up once or twice but business usually happens at the 5 or 6 contact. Are you willing to keep following up.

How do I keep track? My computer calendar is linked to my phone and I still keep a paper copy.  On my office wall I have a big white board or if you can paint a wall with chalkboard paint so you really can see the big picture. My motto is what gets written down gets done. I also keep a ring binder with a page per prospect. On each page I make a note every time I have contacted or connected with that person. When that contact becomes a client they go into another file. First thing every morning or last thing when I end my day is to go through the book and see who I can contact. To get my goals completed I need to add at least 3 to 5 new contacts a day. Now if I meet 15 at a networking event, I still aim to do the 3 to 5 the next day. When you have lots of new prospects you will find growing your business so much more fun.

Keeping track of your statistics is vital.  So if making appointments Is easy for you – great. Are you making sales at every appointment? Closing? Getting the results you want? Where do you need to improve or try something different to get results. Again being busy is great but only if what you do is effecting the bottom line.

Make it a great day!
