SUPERCHARGE YOUR ATTITUDE

Image
Does your attitude make a difference? In my opinion your attitude is everything. If you think you can – you can! And if you think you can’t you are right but just for you! Was I born with a positive attitude? More likely I was trained to have a positive outlook.  Have I learned about keeping it positive – you bet and it is a daily process. What is that little voice in your head saying to you? Are you feeding positive thoughts to your mind?  A long time ago there was a commercial where the angel sat on one shoulder and the devil on another giving messages to the person. Which message are you hearing and is it serving you? Change your thoughts and it will change your life! Growing up my Mother loved to say to me “Set an example – you have six younger sisters. That wasn’t what I wanted to hear, but it did rub off on me and taught me leadership skills that have served me well. And how grateful I am for those lessons. What can you do daily to create a more positive o...

Comedy, love story or horror film: Which describes your life?

Life is not a dress rehearsal – we only go this way once! Are you the star in your production? If you knew you couldn’t fail what would you do? February 2014 was a life-changing month for me. I was in the middle of passing a kidney stone while under the influence of great drugs. Spending hours in emergency with my hubby and having time to chat, I said maybe I should retire. Not sure where that came from, but hubby made it clear he thought it was a great idea. How great a feeling that was to know that I could afford to do that.   Now, what was my next step? You see I knew I didn’t want to keep doing what I was doing but didn’t know what my next step was.   Would my second act be an Oscar-winning performance? What did I want to do for the rest of my life? What can I be passionate about? What was my WHY?   Now that I have starte...

What is one of the biggest stressors in life? Moving!

P rior planning prevents stress. When was the last time you moved? Well having just moved to a brand new home, here are some tips that sure made our move a lot less stressful. For us this move was easier as it was a brand new home. Now that is good and bad – no toilet tissue holders, towel bars, mirrors in bathroom.  I hired an organizer to give me tips on organizing our new space. So much of what we do daily is a habit. You want to know when you reach for your coffee mug that it is where it is easy to reach for. Are you moving yourself or hiring a mover? We did most of the packing ourselves but hired a mover for the big pieces. The right mover can also reduce less stress and damage. Mackie Moving Systems in Dartmouth were amazing. We took photos of every room in our new home and worked with the floor plans. We made several copies – one for furniture, one for closets. Making dates a few weeks ahead of time to disconnect and reconnect for water, power, phone, intern...
